Another One In The Books … .

Ramadan 2024CE/1445AH came and went. I can’t really remember a Ramadan throughout the 20 some odd years I’ve been Muslim that has felt like it’s gone by so quickly. Perhaps that’s a sign of the times as the Final Hour comes near. In any case, I just wanted to share this quote from Ibn Rajab al-Hanbali that my beloved princess brought my attention to. I’ve already shared it on Twitter/X and on Facebook, but I figured I’d share it here too (albeit a few days after initially sharing it on those other platforms).

In his beneficial work, Lata’if al-Ma’arif (pg. 453, Dar Ibn Katheer), al-Hafidh Ibn Rajab, may Allah shower him with His mercy, said,

‏كيف لا يجري للمؤمن على فراقِه (يعني شهر رمضان) دموعٌ ، وهو لا يدرِي هل بقي لَهُ في عمره إليه رجوع..

How, for the believer upon its departure (i.e., Ramadan’s), can tears not flow, while whether there is a return for it during his lifetime, he doesn’t know.

‘Id mubarak to all my brothers and sisters who still venture to this little conrner of mine on the interwebs. May Allah accept from us and from our good deeds done for His sake during this blessed month. May He forgive for us and for you out many shortcomings. May your day be one of joy and bliss, with good company, of family and friends.

May Allah ease the suffering of all of our oppressed brothers and sisters around the world. May He give them strength, solace and resolve and may He grant them retribution against their oppressors.
