Allah has commanded us to not speak of Him except the truth and to not speak of Him except with knowledge. He commanded us [to be] just and equitable, so it is not permissible for us when a Jew or a Christian–let alone a Râfidî–makes a statement containing truth that we leave it or we reject all of it. Rather, we do not reject except what it contains of falsehood without [rejecting] what it contains of truth … . Due to this, we did not reject what the Mu’tazilah and the Râfidah said of truth. Rather, we accepted it.

When the tribulation occurred, the sensible [people] were incapable of warding off the foolish [people] and the senior-ranking [people], may Allah be pleased with them, became incapable of extinguishing the tribulation and hinder its people. This is the nature of the tribulation, just as He, exalted is He, said, «And be wary of a tributation that does not exclusively strike those of you who oppress» (8:25).[*] When the tribulation occurred, no one was safe from being dirtied by it except whoever Allah safeguarded.

[*] [t] I.e., a tribulation that strikes everyone indiscriminately, oppressor or not.

Salafism, Do You Really Get It?

I had originally began this article a few months ago in hopes that it would be completed well before Ramadân. Circumstances however, have prevented its completion until fairly recently. I’ve been waiting on some feedback from some brothers I sent the completed article to before; so far only a few brothers have responded with their input. I thought, however, that I’d post it now despite not hearing back from some of them, since most of the feedback I was getting while working on it was fairly positive.

If establishing the obligations from knowledge, jihâd, and other than that, is not feasable except through someone who has heresy whose harm (i.e., the heresy’s) is lesser than the harm of leaving that obligation, obtaining the obligation’s advantage with the likely disadvantage along with it is better than the opposite (i.e., not obtaining the obligation’s advantage at all).

Shaikh al-‘Ubailân On What’s Going On Between Shaikhs ‘Alî al-Halabî & Ahmad Bâzmūl

Shaikh ‘Abdullah bin Sâlih al-‘Ubailân was asked,

Our shaikh, may Allah preserve you, what is your view regarding what is circulating in the assembly rooms (i.e., the Internet forums and message boards) of conveying the words and the refutations for this and that, particularly in the latest times and what is occurring between Shaikh Ahmad Bâzmūl and Shaikh ‘Alî al-Halabî? And pardon me, have you read al-Halabî’s latest treatise, Manhaj as-Salaf asSâlih, and what is your comment on it? May Allah increase you in knowledge and godliness.

The shaikh, may Allah preserve him, answered saying,

Is the Limbs’ Deed Included in Faith’s Root?

As previously mentioned, I’ve finally finished the latest article I’ve been working on; again, may Allah reward my “better half” for helping proofread it (we finished that this morning).

Is the Limbs’ Deed Included in Faith’s Root? (PDF) is an excerpt from the end of Shaikh Ahmad bin Salih az-Zahrani‘s Sharh Alfâdh as-Salaf wa Naqd Alfâdh al-Khalaf fî Haqîqah al-Îmân (Explaining the Wordings of the Predecessors and Invalidating the Wordings of the Successors regarding the Reality of Faith). It’s the third such excerpt I’ve translated from this truly beneficial book (the other two being: Faith is Not a Single Reality and Faith is Two Faiths), which will hopefully be translated in full one day, with Allah’s permission.

As of late I’ve been reading Sharh Alfâdh as-Salaf wa Naqd Alfâdh al-Khalaf fî Haqîqah al-Îmân by Shaikh Ahmad bin Sâlih az-Zahrânî; great book so far, by the way. Anyhow, it’s been a while since I posted, and since I came across this nice quote, I thought what the heck, and thought I’d share it with the rest of you. From Majmū’ al-Fatâwâ (vol. 20, pg. 90), Shaikh Ahmad az-Zahrânî quotes Shaikh of Islam Ibn Taimiyyah as saying,
