My Work …

Much of the material I will be posting to this blog will be original work by yours truly whether they be original pieces written by me or translations I’ve done of Islamic texts—unless stated otherwise, of course.

I’m not all that strict when it comes to copyrights, although I do believe they should be respected, such that people aren’t blatantly stealing someone else’s intellectual property and claiming it for themselves.

As such, I would hope that if anyone would like to use the original material I produce and post to this blog, they would have the decency to contact me (@ rasheed.gonzales AT gmail DOT com) and ask for my permission to do so—or at the very least, not try to pass it off as their own and give credit where the credit is due.

For the Adobe PDF documents I’ll be posting up, you my need to install the Arabesque II font (right-click, save as, then extract the font into your Fonts folder in your Windows directory) as well as the Times Ext Roman font (it’s an executable file, just run it and it will install the font onto your computer).

With that said, know that Allah is the knower of all things. He is constantly watching over His creation. And on Judgement day, anyone who had a right taken from them will be given it back from the one who took it from him.

Peace.

Salam Rasheed, hope you’re doing fine. Just wanted to request you that sometimes, it’s not of much use to engage in discussions with people already having much hatred of Islam. Thank you.

  2. Wa ‘alaikum as-salam Qasim,

May Allah reward and bless you for your advice.

  3. abdullah says:

assalamualaikum, have you translated any of the works of imam al albaani/

  4. Wa ‘alaikum as-salam wa rahmatullah.

I’ve mostly translated various statements from the shaikh, may Allah have mercy on him … a few passages here and there from some of his works. I was working on translating his treatise on abandoning the prayer (Hukm Tarik as-Salah), but I stopped a few years ago and haven’t touched it since. I was also working on his checking of Imam Abu Ubaid al-Qasim bin Sallam’s Kitab al-Iman, but that’s also been left incomplete for a few years as well.

Assalaamu alaykum warahmatullahy wabarakaatuh. I was asking if you have translated sheikh albaanee’s book on jilbaab al mar-atussaaliha to english, or if you have (by chance) come upon a translated copy of it. Jazaakallahu kheyr.

Wa iyyakum, dear Farida. This is a little surreal for me. I apologize.

I haven’t translated that work, nor do I know of one being done. I do know that Dr. Bilal Philips has translated part of it, however. It is a short summary of ar-Radd al-Mufhim, a book al-Albani wrote regarding the niqab, which was taken from the introduction of Jilbab al-Ma’rah al-Muslimah. You can find that translation here. Aside from this, I think there might be a translation of a summary of al-Albani’s al-Jilbab might have been translated. If I can find out for sure, I will tell my wife to let you know, insha’allah.

When you speak to your father next, please convey him my salam and tell him that I love him for Allah’s sake and that I miss him very, very much.
