Shaikh Abdul-Adhim Badawi Returning To Toronto & Dead, But Alive

Around a year and a half since his very first visit to Canada, Shaikh Abdul-Adhim bin Badawi will hopefully be making another visit here to Toronto near the end of the month.

QSS Pres, Abdulmonem Burkhes, made an announcement after this past Friday’s sermon that the shaikh would be visiting us for two weeks, arriving December 27 and staying through until January 9. I’m not sure if how final the plans for the shaikh’s visit are or the details of where, when and what he’ll be speaking about, but I’ll be sure to post up more information when I get wind of it, Allah willing (Update: according to QSSC.org, Shaikh Abdul-Adhim will be joined by another shaikh, Abdullah Shakir al-Junaidi. Check qssc.org for updates).

As for Dead, but Alive, it’s the title of the upcoming Abu Huraira Center Annual December Conference. The main theme will be concerning the lives of our scholars, their accomplishments, and their dedication to Allah’s religion. The event is scheduled to take place from Friday, December 23rd to Sunday, December 25th. It’s going to be a free event, so if you’ve got a chance to check it out, do so. Speakers will include the centre’s imam, Said Rageah; my dear friend Moutasem Alhameedy; Madinah University graduate, Musleh Khan; and others.

About Rasheed Gonzales
My name is Rasheed Gonzales. I’m a Muslim convert of Filipino descent. Born and raised in Toronto, Canada, I was guided to Islam through one of my younger brothers and a couple of friends, all of whom had converted to Islam sometime before me (may Allah reward them greatly). I am married with four children (and the praise is Allah’s) and also a volunteer for the Qur'an & Sunnah Society of Canada, based in Toronto.

  1. Assalamu Alaykum, any updates on the schedule for the conference at QSSC?

  2. Wa ‘alaikum as-salam wa rahmatullah, Amina.

Sorry, I forgot to pick up a flyer last Friday after the sermon and prayer. From what I do recall, the shaikh will be going over portions of his book, al-Wajiz, similar to his last visit. I’m not sure the exact schedule of the lessons, however. I’ll try to remember to pick up a program tomorrow after Friday sermon and prayer, insha’allah.

  3. Jazaka`Allahu khairan, just saw the schedule up on the site.
