Shaikh Muhammad Mūsâ Nasr Coming to Toronto!

I mentioned a little while ago that we were hoping to have Shaikh Abū Anas Muhammad Mūsâ Nasr visit us here in Toronto. The praise is Allah’s, the shaikh’s visa has been approved and granted so the shaikh will be coming to visit us near the end of this month. The shaikh should be arriving on July 24, 2008 and will stay with us until he departs on August 4, 2008. QSSC has announced a tentative schedule for the shaikh’s talks and the topics he will be speaking about.

He will be giving the Friday sermon at QSSC on July 25, 2008 and then a lecture after the sunset prayer (approx. 9pm, also at QSSC). Then on Saturday and Sunday (July 26-27, 2008), the shaikh will be speaking at QSSC on the topic of “The Prophetic Guidance”. Lectures are scheduled to start shortly after 2pm (after the noon prayer).

Then, the following weekend (August 2-3, 2008) the shaikh will be speaking at QSSC on the topic of “Protecting Oneself From Jinn, Magic, Evil Eye and Satan”. Lectures, again, are scheduled to start shortly after 2pm.

As has been our usual habit, we will be bringing the shaikh to various mosques around the GTA during the weekdays between the two weekend talks. A detailed schedule for these talks will be posted on the QSSC website sometime soon, if Allah wills.

    بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

As-Salaamu ‘alaikum wa rahmatullaahi wa barakaatuh,

    Kayfa Haaluk?

I am just wondering, since I am planning to come to Toronto inshaa’allaah, if Shaykh Usaamah al-Qoosee still visits QSS?

Also I am wondering if there is a main imaam at the QSS and if I could have his name? Also is QSS a Masjid or a Musullah?

Forgive me for asking too much, but I am also wondering about other Masaajid which are upon the Qur’aan and Sunnah?

    Baarakallaahu feek for your help.

  4. Wa ‘alaikum as-salam wa rahmatullah wa barakatuh, brother Abdul Samad.

With Allah’s praise, I’m doing fairly well. May Allah reward and bless you for asking.

Yes, Shaikh Abu Hatim (al-Qusi) still visits us at QSS, although he won’t be coming for this event; it will just be Shaikh Abu Anas.

The QSSC centre is a mosque and its imam is QSS president, Abdulmonem Burkhes.

As for other mosques around the city from those run by the People of the Sunnah, then there are a few; and the praise is Allah’s. It depends on which part of Toronto you’ll be visiting, however.

Please contact me at my email address (rasheed DOT gonzales AT gmail DOT com) if you want their names and addresses, or if you have any other questions or concerns.
