The brothers at have added a new article regarding pledges of cooperation with the Ash’arîs, Mâturîdîs, ans Sūfîs containing questions posed to Shaikh Dr. Khâlid al-‘Anbarî. You can check it out here.

About Rasheed Gonzales
My name is Rasheed Gonzales. I’m a Muslim convert of Filipino descent. Born and raised in Toronto, Canada, I was guided to Islam through one of my younger brothers and a couple of friends, all of whom had converted to Islam sometime before me (may Allah reward them greatly). 1. abu salma says:

I have heard that brother Abu Zakaryaa Said bin Gunnar Bakk ad-Danimarki, the admin of had repent form asharite/maturide to manhaj and aqidah salaf…
    He said :

There is no salvation except through following the Salaf”
And Allâh is the One Who Guides.
So I am a Salafî (Atharî) in ‘aqîdah and manhaj (methodology), wal-hamdulillâh

  2. His declaration can be found in the website linked in my name, al-hamd lillaah.

  3. al-boriqee says:

the brothers at madeenah (or medinah, or madinah, or medina, or madina, or madeena).com asked Shaykh Ali Nasir al-Faqeehi a similar question about that fiasco pledge.

  4. amal says:

look what is ashaari?maturidis? are you refering to aqeedahs ?

  5. The shaikh is referring to the groups/sects named after Imam Abul-Hasan al-Ash’arî and Abu Mansūr al-Mâturîdî.

  6. a muslim brother says:

the Shaikh did an amazing job of answering the question THAT WAS POSED. Ma Sha Allah.

however the questioner mislead the shaikh when it came to clearly explaining the pledge. the pledge says to stop “attacking” each other, not to stop refuting each other. the questioner inferred the “refuting” part. he should have given the copy of the pledge to the shaikh rather than infer what is meant by it in the questions he asked.

that being said, i still think the pledge is garbage.
