What’s Up …

May 30, 2008

I know I haven’t been posting too frequently as of late. So to the regular visitors to my blog, I apologize, yet again. This time, my time has been taken up by the recent QSSC conference as well as an unfinished project I’ve been trying pretty hard to complete.

Godliness’s Right by Shaikh Dr. Ahmad bin Sâlih az-Zahrânî (source). From the article:

at-Tabarî and others narrated from Ibn Mas’ūd and others from the Predecessors that they said regarding the right of godliness, “that He is obeyed and not disobeyed. He is remembered and not forgotten. He is thanked and not shown ingratitude.” He narrated from Ibn ‘Abbâs his statement, “that they strive for Allah with His striving’s right and the critic’s blame will not seize them regarding Allah. They stand for Allah with justice, even if against themselves, their fathers, and their sons.”

To Allah is the praise, Shaikh ‘Alî Hasan al-Halabî arrived Wednesday night and started giving talks Thursday evening. Thursday and Friday’s talks were on the causes for firmness in the religion. They were excellent talks. For anyone who wasn’t able to hear them, whether live in person, or on PalTalk, I suggest you order them from QSSC when they’re made available.

A Few More Hours …

As I mentioned some time ago, I’d be posting up the translation for the 2nd edition of Rifqan Ahl as-Sunnah bi Ahl as-Sunnah, by Shaikh ‘Abdul-Muhsin bin Hamad al-’Abbâd al-Badr. I’ve already previously posted the new introduction for the book, as well as the last two chapters (which were added from his other work, al-Hathth ‘alâ Ittibâ’ as-Sunnah). The re-edit I’ve done still hasn’t been completely checked, so for those of you reading this, please let me know of any typos or whatever other mistakes you find. I’ve set the document settings so that it can’t be printed (similar to all the other articles I’ve posted published under QSS’s name). Allah willing, when the articles/ebooks get posted to the QSSC site (no clue when that’ll be though) I’ll be posting the printable versions for all the QSS PDF articles.

My wife came across this article on the Telegraph and thought I’d share it with you. The article is on an interview with sister Na’ima Robert of the UK, a British convert to Islam and author of the book, From My Sister’s Lips. May Allah reward the sister for her Islamic propagation efforts.

The article:

Once she was a party-loving student; then Na’ima B Robert converted to Islam. But how did she become so convinced of the benefits of wearing Islamic dress that she now covers herself from head to foot and has written a book extolling its virtues? Bryony Gordon meets her
