I don’t know very much about this particular shaikh, but I have had the pleasure of reading a some of his writings, including some of his posts and articles on the as-Sâhah al-’Arabiyyah forums. I recently found his personal website and throught I’d translate his very brief autobiography. The shaikh has some of his books available for download on his site, in either MSWord or PDF formats. You can also read his posts on as-Sâhah, where he writes under the name Abū ‘Umar al-Kinânî.

The shaikh writes,

[My name is] Ahmad bin Sâlih bin Hasan al-Kinânî az-Zahrânî. Born in Jeddah in the year 1390H, all of my life and livelihood was in Jeddah until 1420H. I have since lived in Yanbu’ as-Sinâ’iyah for eight years. I acquired [my] Bachelor’s from the College of Hadîth at the Islamic University of al-Madînah an-Nabawiyyah in 1413H; [my] Master’s in Creed from Umm al-Qura University in 1419H; and my Doctorate, also in Creed, from the Islamic University [of Madînah] in 1425H. I work as a teacher for at-Tarbiyah al-Islamiyyah in Yanbu’ as-Sinâ’iyah among one of many educational departments in absence. (Source).
