He is Shaikh Muhammad bin ‘Abdir-Rahman al-Maghrâwî from the tribe of Awlâd Nâsir. He was born the year 1367H corresponding to 1948CE in the al-Ghurfah district of Er-Rachidia in southern Morocco. His father took him to school when he was five and he finished memorization of the Qur’an when he was ten. Then he joined the Islamic Institute in Meknes, a branch of the University of Al-Karaouine, then the Ibn Yūsuf Institute for Proper Education in Marrakech where he studied the preparatory stage and the first year of secondary. Shaikh ‘Ubaid bin ‘Abdillah al-Jâbirî explained,

Creed (’aqîdah) is what is obligated upon the person of his belief regarding Allah, might and sublime is He, regarding what came from Him and what His messengers came with. The support and gist of that is the six pillars of faith, which are: i) faith in Allah, ii) His angels, iii) His books, iv) His messengers, and v) the Last Day, and vi) faith in Predestination, its good and its evil. Then what follows that is from what is obligated upon the Muslim of his belief and that it is real and true; from the news of the Unseen such as the occurances of tribulation which the Prophet, may Allah send salutations and peace upon him, informed of; or such as the news of those who passed from the Prophets and Messengers, whether what is from them (i.e., the news) is in the Book or the Sunnah; the conditions of the Barzakh from the comfort and punishment of the grave; and what will happen during the Great Standing from the establishment of the Pool, the Scale, the Bridge and other than that.

New from brother Kamil:

I write this first and foremost as a reminder to myself, and secondly as a reminder to my brothers and sisters from among the students of knowledge and from among those active in the field Da’wah and teaching. The times we live in are times of great Fitan, especially for those involved in seeking knowledge and delivering that knowledge to the people, and especially for those living in the West. We find many of them who have spent several years seeking knowledge under great scholars, who were known for their firmness in knowledge, uprightness in their implementation of that knowledge, and in spreading that knowledge to the masses, suddenly changing from what they were upon. Now, I don’t intend by this to bring down their status in any way, nor do I intend to write a refutation of them, rather they deserve our respect and honour for having preceded us in the good that they have put forth for the Ummah. However, I hope this serves as a reminder to them, a reminder to those who are following in their footsteps, and a reminder to others so as not to fall into the mistakes they have fallen into.
